About

Peerasit Sitthirat is a Health Policy and Systems Researcher and Medical Doctor at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Political Economy at the Faculty of Economics, Chulalongkorn University. His research lies at the intersection of health policy, political economy, and social policy, examining how political, economic, and institutional arrangements shape health systems, healthcare access, and population health. He studies questions surrounding health inequities, healthcare governance, and the development of welfare states, with particular interests in understanding how public policy can promote more equitable health systems.

His work combines large-scale data, computational modeling, and policy evaluation to generate evidence for policy decision making. He has led and contributed to nationally funded research projects on health policy and systems research in Thailand. His current research increasingly draws on perspectives from political economy to examine the relationships between welfare institutions, state capacity, and health outcomes, bridging empirical health systems research with broader debates in social policy and comparative welfare state development. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences.
